Streaming platforms have been investing big time in Australian drama and the biggest of all dramas to launch this year will be The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.
The Australian Amazon Original Series will be available to Prime Video subscribers from Friday August 4. The seven-episode series is launching in more than 240 countries and territories, with new episodes rolling out weekly before the series finale on September 1.
Prime Video held a preview screening in Sydney last night attended by cast, crew and Prime Video executives.
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart stars Sigourney Weaver, Asher Keddie, Leah Purcell, Frankie Adams and Alycia Debnam-Carey.
Those attending the screening included the author of the best-selling book it is based on, Holly Ringland, director Glendyn Ivin, writer and showrunner Sarah Lambert, who both serve as executive producers, with Made Up Stories executive producers Jodi Matterson and Bruna Papandrea.
Prime Video heavy hitters on hand included Hushidar Kharas, head of Prime Video Australia and New Zealand, Tyler Bern, head of content, Prime Video Australia, New Zealand, Javiera Balmaceda, head of Local Originals Latin America, Canada and Australia and Sarah Christie, senior scripted development executive.
The was hosted by Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew and a Q&A featured Holly Ringland, Glendyn Ivin, Sarah Lambert, Jodi Matterson, Bruna Papandrea and Sarah Christie.
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart is produced by Amazon Studios, Made Up Stories, and Fifth Season. The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart is executive produced by Jodi Matterson, Bruna Papandrea, and Steve Hutensky of Made Up Stories and Sigourney Weaver, Sarah Lambert, and Glendyn Ivin. Ivin directs all seven episodes and Lambert serves as showrunner.
