The Hit Network has welcomed three new workday announcers across its regional markets as SCA continues to provide opportunities to up-and-coming talent in the industry.
Jordan Bocock moves to Hobart’s Hit100.9 as mornings announcer, relocating from the Central Coast, where he has been working in the local SCA team as digital content producer and announcer.
Bocock attended the Australian Radio School in Adelaide and AFTRS in Sydney before securing a full-time gig in 2016.
From 2021, Bocock has been part of the Hit Network, finding himself behind the microphone across the network’s regional stations and Shepparton’s Hit96.9.
Bocock’s appointment is effective immediately and can be heard from 9am-12pm weekdays.
Phil Bradley, SCA’s Hobart content director, said: “We are excited for Jordan to bring his unique style to Hobart after being recognised nationally at the recent Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) as a finalist for Best Music Presenter.
“As well as music, Jordan has a passion for digital platforms and can now showcase Tassie to his hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok at @radioairjordan.”
Shannon Freeman steps into the in her first full-time announcing role as she takes on the Mornings shift from 9am-12pm on the Central West’s Hit105.9.
Studying radio straight after high school in 2013, Freeman has most recently been part of SCA Hobart’s Brand Experience team and dabbled in announcing on weekends. Freeman’s new role is effective immediately.
Chris Jarrold will become mornings announcer and operations support on The Border’s Hit104.9 from Monday, November 28.
Jarrold completed his Graduate Diploma in Radio at AFTRS in 2016 and has experience on the airwaves across Dubbo, Newcastle and Campbeltown and has previously been a traffic reporter across TV and radio.
Blair Woodcock, SCA’s head of content – regional, said: “These three may all be at different stages of their careers and have different radio beginnings, but they’ve all been committed to making their dream of working in radio come to life.
“From entering SCA through Brand Experience teams or travelling around Australia working at various radio stations, they’ve all grown and developed along the way, and I know they’re going to excel in their new positions.
“We’re always committed to the growth and development of our content teams and providing opportunities to the new talent coming through the industry.”
