The Front Bar names Furphy as its new sponsor

The Front Bar Returns Wednesday, 1 February 2023 on Channel 7 and 7plus

The Front Bar is set to return to the screens of Seven in 2023 with a fresh new beer at the bar after a big year with cricket, the Commonwealth Games and the AFL.

In a first for fans, resident patrons Mick Molloy, Andy Maher, and Sam Pang will be serving Geelong-born ale Furphy when they kick-start happy hour at the bar on Channel 7 and 7plus from Wednesday, 1 February 2023.

Making its triumphant return ahead of the 2023 AFL Premiership Season, The Front Bar will enjoy a mega 2023 with 37 episodes set to air across Seven, with Furphy locked in as The Front Bar’s drink of choice each week.

Molloy said: “Furphy slid into my DMs, we hooked up, and the rest is history. I’ve always been a fan of Furphy. It’s a beer. It’s from Geelong and…it’s a beer.

“It’s great to have Furphy on board. They had to pass my stringent taste test first, which went for about two weeks, but I have high standards.

“I have a reputation in the industry as a tough deal maker, but the free sample eventually got me over the line,” he said.

“We wanted to change something, and once I checked that Andy Maher’s contract was watertight, we decided to switch to Furphy.”

Chris Allan, Furphy brand director, said: “Another Unbelievable demonstration from Furphy, building on our support for a number of AFL and AFLW teams.

“We’re excited to partner with The Front Bar as we say cheers to Furphy shining bright on The Front Bar in 2023 and beyond.”

The new partnership with Furphy marks the end of the show’s sponsorship from Carlton Draught.

A Carlton Draught spokesman told the Adelaide Advertiser: “We’ve been with the Front Bar from the very beginning in 2015, so it was a difficult decision.

“We love The Front Bar, but it’s time for us to take a fresh approach to promote Carlton Draught with footy and pub fans.

“We have a massive new marketing campaign planned for 2023 and will have more exciting announcements soon,” they concluded.
