The Fox 101.9’s breakfast hosts, Fifi, Fev & Nick, have raised more than $385,000 and counting for their Doing It For The Kids toy campaign.
The trio have called on listeners and friends to help as many vulnerable children and families as possible for Christmas this year.
Now in its second year, The Fox 101.9 has partnered with Anglicare Victoria because Fifi Box, Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody believe no child should ever wake up on Christmas morning without a present under the tree.
The Fox raised almost $100,000 alone from its donation day on Thursday, 1 December.
Anglicare Victoria estimates that at least 3,000 vulnerable clients will be supported from Doing It For The Kids, with donations used to give gifts to the those who may not otherwise receive them due to financial hardship.
Box said: “We can’t thank Melburnians and our listeners enough, the way they step up and back each other and look after each other.
“It says so much about our town and our city and we love you Melbourne, for so generously contributing to changing Christmas for the better for so many children and families.”
Paul McDonald, Anglicare Victoria CEO, said: “2022 has been another tough year for families. At Anglicare Victoria we’ve seen more people seeking help through our emergency relief centres as cost of living is hitting hard.
“On top of that, the recent floods have displaced residents from their local communities and homelessness has increased state-wide.
“Fifi, Fev & Nick, and everyone at 101.9 The Fox have again recognised the stress Melbournians and Victorians are under – I could not be more grateful to everyone who has donated to Doing It For The Kids. More children and families will now experience the magic of Christmas who otherwise wouldn’t have. Thank you 101.9 The Fox, and thank you Melbourne!”
Melburnians and friends of the show have showed their support since Doing It For The Kids began last year including Robbie Williams, Macklemore, Michael Bublé, Danii Minogue, Eddie McGuire, Hamish & Andy, Vance Joy, Karl Stefanovic, The Wiggles, Peking Duk, Carrie Bickmore, Tommy Little, Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes and many more.
Donations for Doing It For The Kids 2022 can be made up until Thursday, 24 December at hit.com.au.
