The program includes athletics, swimming, artistic gymnastics, track cycling, netball, weightlifting, boxing, judo, bowls and 3x3 basketball. Para events will again be integrated into the competition schedule.

Glasgow will stage the largest swimming and track cycling programs in Commonwealth Games history. The pool will host 56 medal events, while 26 medals will be decided at the velodrome.

Seven assembles its broadcast team

Bruce McAvaney will lead Seven’s commentary team and call the athletics program from Glasgow. He will be joined by Tamsyn Manou, Jason Richardson and David Culbert at Scotstoun Stadium.

Seven’s swimming coverage will feature recently retired Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus as a pool-deck reporter. Alister Nicholson will lead the calls alongside Giaan Rooney and Annabelle Williams.

Matt Shirvington and Emma Freedman will host Seven’s nightly prime-time coverage from 7pm. The pair will present swimming, athletics and cycling, along with interviews involving athletes and their families.

Mel McLaughlin and Jason Richardson will host late-night coverage from Glasgow. Johanna Griggs and Matt White will take over from 3.30am, while Rebecca Maddern will present daily afternoon highlights.

Trent Copeland and Lizzie Jelfs will guide audiences through overnight competition, including netball, judo, artistic gymnastics, boxing, bowls, basketball and track cycling.

Coverage extends across Seven’s media network

Seven’s coverage will extend beyond television and streaming. Triple M will simulcast selected commentary from 10pm to 5am, while the Hit Network and Triple M will provide updates on major medal moments throughout the day.

Sunrise will also feature daily coverage from Glasgow. Katie Brown will report from the Australian team headquarters, with Emma McKeon and Sally Pearson joining the program during the Games.

Chris Jones, Southern Cross Media Group Director of Sport – TV, Audio and Streaming, said the aim was to make Australian audiences feel close to the action.

“Whether it's a record-breaking swim, a breakthrough performance on the track or an emotional gold medal moment, our team is committed to telling every story with the insight, expertise and passion that Seven is known for,” Jones said.

Anna Stone, Seven’s Head of Commonwealth Games, said the Australian team included established champions and emerging athletes capable of producing defining moments.

“The Commonwealth Games has an incredible history of launching sporting careers,” Stone said. “Every four years we're introduced to athletes who seize the moment, capture the imagination of the nation and go on to become household names.”

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games begin Friday, 24 July, live and free on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
