Following on from the success of the first telemovie Alice-Miranda Friends Forever which premiered in 2019, Nine Entertainment has commissioned a second animated adventure.
The sequel Alice-Miranda – A Royal Christmas Ball will premiere in Australia on Stan from October 15 and will be broadcast on 9GO! in December.
This is the latest story of Alice-Miranda Highton-Smith-Kennington-Jones, a vivacious 10-year-old girl, and her adventures at the Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale Academy and beyond. For Alice-Miranda, Millie and Jacinta, the new school year holds no shortage of excitement and surprises.
Directed by Australian Directors’ Guild winner Jo Boag (2020 Best Direction in an Animated Project for Alice-Miranda Friends Forever) of SLR Productions, the telemovie was written by SLR Productions’ team of Melanie Alexander and Alexa Moses. It was produced by SLR Productions’ Yasmin Jones and Suzanne Ryan, CEO of SLR Productions, was the executive producer.
Locally the telemovie is distributed by ABC Commercial and internationally, the distribution is being handled by ZDF Enterprises.
Alice-Miranda Friends Forever and Alice-Miranda – A Royal Christmas Ball have been sold to several European markets.

The adventure starts on a royal cruise with Alice-Miranda’s Aunty Gee, Queen Georgiana. The theft of the crown jewels sets off a treasonous royal plot, which plays out across the Queen’s Cup at Winchesterfield and the Royal Silver Jubilee Ball that Christmas. In the end, it’s Alice-Miranda’s quick-thinking and bravery that saves the day, and even the monarchy.
