Space Invaders returns for season two, set to premiere on Saturday, February 19 at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Across Australia, people face the massive problem of household clutter. The Space Invaders experts – declutter guru Peter Walsh, renovation queen Cherie Barber and treasure hunter Lucas Callaghan – are back to change lives and fix even bigger problems with the biggest transformations yet.
The trio unites each week to help desperate families lighten their homes and their hearts, turning rooms full of jumbled mess into beautiful, relaxing spaces and providing tips and tricks to help us all declutter and improve our lives.
Peter confronts the overwhelming issues behind family problems to free them from feeling drowned by unwanted clutter and breaks through their emotional barriers.
Cherie then transforms their cleared-out homes, adding spaces and taking dreams to the next level in record time, and Lucas steps in to uncover hidden gems – and treasures that could be worth big money.
Watch as strangers open their hearts and home to the changes they desperately need, for the biggest transformation of their lives, as Space Invaders inspire us all to ask a simple question: how does your clutter affect you?
Nine Network program director, Hamish Turner, said of the new season: “Space Invaders won the hearts of viewers in season one with its real stories and struggles faced by everyday Aussies. Season two takes those stories further and won’t leave you disappointed.”
Peter said: “I’m thrilled that Space Invaders has been renewed. I’ve been blown away by all the love for the show and can’t wait to help more people in need.”
Lucas added: “The trust that the participants of season one had for us was heartwarming. Asking for help is often the hardest thing to do, especially from strangers. But the show enabled us to become a part of their families and memories. They opened their homes and hearts, and such unconditional trust is what made this show.”
Cherie said: “It was such a nice change on this show to be renovating to change people’s lives rather than my normal renovating for profit. Making money from property is one thing, but renovating just for love and family is priceless, and my heart is full to be able to come back and help even more people.”
Season two promises more exciting journeys to help families discover the pleasures of life beyond the crushing weight of their clutter.
This week it was announced that Space Invaders had been acquired by Channel 4 for More4 in the UK and by 6ter (a Groupe M6 FTA channel) in France, with each broadcaster picking up both seasons (20 x 60) of the original Nine Network Australia show.
Space Invaders is produced for Channel Nine by WTFN.
