As the 2022 election nears closer, Sky News will kick off its election coverage, starting with the Super Saturday NSW By-Elections taking place this Saturday 12 February.
Live coverage will begin from 6:00pm AEDT, led by Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert and Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
Joining them as panellists are NSW Treasurer Matt Kean, Shadow NSW Housing Minister Rose Jackson, former NSW Nationals leader John Barilaro and Sky News analyst Graham Richardson.
Sky News will provide viewers with comprehensive coverage and analysis as punters place their votes for the seats of Bega, Monaro, Strathfield and Willoughby.
Sky News Chief Anchor Kieran Gilbert said: “The results in these seats not only represent the first real litmus test of new NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet’s leadership, but they also have federal implications for Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese.
“The overlapping electorates of Reid, Eden-Monaro and Gilmore are all critical contests federally – so both Leaders will be keenly anticipating the Super Saturday outcome ahead of the election,” he said.
In what is set to be one of the most complicated elections in the state’s history, Sky News reporters will be across the four seats, with Trudy McIntosh live from Bega, Jonathan Lea in Monaro, Andrea Crothers in Strathfield and Adam Walters in Willoughby.
The Coalition seats of Monaro, Willoughby and Bega are in play after the early exits of former premier Gladys Berejiklian, her deputy John Barilaro and senior minister Andrew Constance.
