Nine’s streaming platform Stan has unveiled the trailer for the brand new Stan Original Documentary Series Show Me The Money and confirmed the three-part series will premiere on Thursday 10 March.
Stan noted Show Me The Money highlights its growing investment in locally produced original content and is the first of many sports documentary series to come.
Show Me the Money is being made by JamTV, a production company owned by Eddie McGuire. Recently JamTV also made the successful Amazon Prime doco-series Making Their Mark.
The series will feature four of the AFL’s most prominent player agencies: Connors Sports Management, Hemisphere Management Group, Players Ink and Corporate Sports Australia.
Agents featured in the series include:
Paul Connors: Arguably the most influential in the game, with more than 100 of the AFL’s biggest names and up and comers. Connors started at the bottom and broke through with the Top Four selections in the 2001 Super Draft. Along with his business partner Robbie D’Orazio, the CSM team are among the game’s biggest dealmakers. Also featuring: Nick Gieschen and Nathan Freeman.
Alex McDonald: Smart, savvy and successful. McDonald was a No.1 draft pick in 1988 and went on to a successful career at Hawthorn and Collingwood. Alex now heads Hemisphere with more than 30-years’ experience and is regarded as one of the big players in the industry. Also featuring: David Trotter, Annabel Burge, Tom Seccull and Julian Petracca.
Ben Williams: Has single-handedly established Players Ink as one of the new forces in the game. A former Big Brother winner, Ben runs the business and heads up the AFL division; his wife Jade Robran takes care of clients’ media and welfare needs. A star-studded stable that includes the number one pick in the 2021 AFL Draft, Jason Horne-Francis.
Colin Young: One of the driving forces and leaders of CSA and sports management in Western Australia and always in the thick of the action. Young is regarded as one of the straightest shooters in the AFL jungle, with a reputation for keeping the football industry on its toes. Also featuring: Andrew McDougall.
Stan chief content officer Cailah Scobie said: “Show Me the Money will take footy fans on a rollercoaster ride behind the scenes of the AFL Trade Period. Highlighting the breadth of our Stan Originals slate as part of our continued ramp up of original content, this blockbuster documentary series will feature a who’s who of AFL superstars and explore the high stakes world of player agents and club managers. We are thrilled to be collaborating with the accomplished team at Jam TV on this project.”
JAM TV chief executive officer Cos Cardone said: “The trade period is one of the most fascinating aspects of AFL football – and for the first time, the backroom deal making will be given the true sports documentary series treatment. The repercussions and ramifications always make for compelling storylines that we know will fascinate viewers.”
