Seven have revealed the first look of Sam Pang suiting up for television’s night of nights, the 63rd TV WEEK Logie Awards which will be broadcast exclusively on Channel Seven and 7plus on Sunday, 30 July from 7:00 pm.
The comedian and co-host of Seven’s The Front Bar is the first host of the Logies in 11 years, joining a significant list of entertainment icons including Graham Kennedy, Bert Newton, Done Lane, Andrew Denton and Shaun Micallef in the role.
Sam Pang said: “It’s a huge honour to be asked to host the Logies and while it will be weird not having a buzzer or beer in front of me, hopefully I’m up to the challenge. I feel very lucky to be a part of this industry and can’t wait for July 30 in Sydney to celebrate Australian television on its night of nights and guide viewers at home through the entire four hour broadcast.”
Seven Network’s chief content officer, entertainment programming, Angus Ross, said: “Sam was on standby to accept an award for Kitty Flanagan at last year’s Logies and found himself up on stage and stole the entire show with his wry and witty asides. We are thrilled audiences will get even more of Sam Pang on Seven as he steers the ship across the whole night with his genuine affection for the industry, past and present, alongside his trademark humour.”
Voting will open for all popular awards at 9.00 am AEST on June 19 and remain open until the end of the red carpet telecast on Sunday 30 July at 7.30 pm AEST, except for the coveted TV WEEK Gold Logie Award, which, for the first time ever, will stay open throughout the telecast and close at 10.30 pm AEST. Those watching at home have the chance to help shape Australian television history, live on the night, with their vote for who should take out the evening’s big award. Fans can now vote for their favourites from the shortlisted nominees at tvweeklogies.com.au.
