Seven has moved its 7:30 pm tentpole program Ultimate Tag to its multichannel 7flix after its first week of ratings results on its primary channel.
The show features Australians from all walks of life stepping up to the challenge against pro taggers, who include some of the world’s parkour stars, sports champions, sprinters, gymnasts and martial arts pros.
The last standing male and female player will take home $100,000 in prize money as well as the title of Australia’s first Ultimate Tag Champion.
The series kicked off on March 14 with a debut audience of 447,000 putting it into third place amongst the three major entertainment formats.
In the first Ultimate Tag episode world-class athlete and carer Rebecca Bennett, who qualified for Tokyo 2020 Australian Women’s 4x400m relay, took on elite artistic gymnast Supernova in the quest for the winner to claim the Ultimate Tag championship title and $100,000 in prizemoney. The series lifted the channel’s 25-54 audience and attracted more male viewers.
On Monday, March 8, The show’s second episode had 260,000 after going head to head with 10’s Oprah Winfrey interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with 1.36m while Nine aired Married at First Sight which had 804,000.
On Tuesday, Ultimate Tag had 277,000 which was up on the Tuesday night episode but still significantly down from the launch audience.

Seven had planned to run the show on its main channel this week, but new episodes are now airing on 7flix while the main channel offers up 7News Presents Ivan Milat Buried Secrets on Sunday and Declassified: The Royal Scandals, on Monday evening.
The show is a production from Endemol Shine Australia (ESA), and the new commission extended the partnership between the companies following the successful collaboration on Big Brother Australia.
Originally created by event entertainment specialists Znak & Co, Ultimate Tag’s launch on FOX marks broadcast’s highest-rated unscripted Summer debut in three years and FOX’s highest-rated and most-watched unscripted Summer debut in eight years.
