NOVA Entertainment is expanding its parenting podcast slate, with Sean Szeps set to host new Nova Podcast Original The Parenting Police.

Launching Tuesday, 8 September, the podcast will investigate the toys, shows, trends and advice competing for parents’ attention and money. Szeps will weigh up the evidence before delivering a verdict on what is actually worthwhile.

Each week, a celebrity parent will join Szeps to review new toys and parenting fads. The series will also feature regular The Parenting Police Investigates episodes examining everyday parenting questions and products.

Cutting through the parenting noise

The new series marks an expansion of Nova Podcasts’ parenting offering. It aims to combine practical information with humour as families navigate an increasingly crowded market of products, entertainment and advice.

“As a parent, there’s a constant stream of new stuff flooding into your home: new toys, new shows, new clothes your kid saw on TikTok and now can’t live without,” Szeps said.

The Parenting Police is the show that does the research for you. We investigate the stuff, argue about it, and then hand down a final verdict. You’ll have a laugh and get the research at the same time!”

Rachel Corbett, NOVA Entertainment Network Director of Nova Podcasts, said Szeps had established a distinctive position in parenting content.

“Sean has become one of the most distinctive voices in parenting by creating content that’s genuinely unlike anything else in the space. He has an incredible instinct for what audiences will connect with and has built a hugely engaged community by consistently creating content that’s original, incredibly funny and completely its own.

“We’re excited to build The Parenting Police with him and create a show that helps parents cut through the endless noise and work out what’s actually worth their time, money and energy.”
