SCA chief content officer, Dave Cameron, today announced the appointment of Blair Woodcock to head of content – regional, as part of the Content leadership team.
In the new role, Woodcock will lead SCA’s regional content initiatives, including its 79 regional Hit and Triple M stations around the country.
Woodcock has worked in radio for almost 20 years and joined SCA in 2008 as a breakfast announcer in Gladstone. He then became a content director for regional Queensland, and has been Assistant Content Director for Triple M Brisbane since 2020 as well as Group Content Director Southern Queensland for Triple M.
“Blair has been a superstar at SCA since joining the organisation in 2008. He lives and breathes regional content and the passion he has for our regional business is unparalleled. I am confident that this appointment will help bring our mantra of Proudly National, Fiercely Local to life right across our regional footprint,” Cameron said.
Commenting on his new role, Woodcock said: “It’s truly exciting to get to work with a great bunch of people who love making content that connects to their local markets each and every day. Also, having worked in those markets, and alongside them in the past, it is a great honour to be leading our regional content teams. I can’t wait to dive right into this role.”
Woodcock will report to Cameron and his role is effective from 10 May.
Earlier in the year, SCA and Network 10 announced that they expect to enter an affiliation agreement from 1 July 2021 under which Network 10 will supply its programs for broadcast by SCA in the regional Queensland, southern New South Wales and regional Victoria commercial television licence areas.
SCA has been granted authority by 10 to market, sell, and book advertising products and packages for broadcast from 1 July 2021 in Network 10 programs on SCA’s television stations in these licence areas, as well as to deal with other parties in relation to audience measurement, television program guides, marketing, promotion, and related matters.
