SCA chief content officer, Dave Cameron, has announced two senior promotions in the content team with newly created roles and responsibilities that provide a focus and strategic direction to Hit Network national shows and Hit and Triple M key regional centres.
Sonder Novak-Booth, currently executive producer of Hit Network’s Carrie and Tommy Drive show joins the ranks of SCA’s content directors nationally and is promoted to a new role as content director – national shows.
Novak-Booth will work closely Cameron and the soon to be appointed head of metro content and oversee the strategic content direction, audience growth, and client integration of SCA’s national shows, talent, and teams, including Carrie and Tommy, Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, and other soon to be announced national shows.
Mickey Maher, currently head of music for SCA across the Hit and Triple M networks, will extend his responsibilities to also become group content director – provincial, working closely with the local content directors in SCA’s key Gold Coast, Newcastle, Hobart, and Canberra markets.
“Mickey has been instrumental in the successful content relaunch of SEA FM back on the Gold Coast, and prior to his current music role was highly successful as Head of Regional Content for SCA. He has and continues to do a fantastic job as Head of Music and I’m delighted that Mickey is taking on this new, important role for Hit and Triple M in these key markets,” Cameron said.
“Sonder has a wealth of content experience over the last decade working with some of our biggest shows including The Fox Breakfast show, and most recently leading the charge on the Carrie and Tommy show. I know she will do an amazing job continuing to coach and develop our national premium shows and the development of show talent and teams.”
Commenting on her new role, Novak-Booth said: “I’m thrilled with my new role at SCA – working in radio is a privilege that I never take for granted, and I passionately believe that it is our shows’ ability to create intimate connections with an audience that makes radio so special. I feel spoilt to have worked with phenomenal teams throughout my career, including the inimitable Carrie and Tommy, and look forward to continuing this work. I’m also excited to get the chance to work with new shows like Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield and more soon-to-be announced national shows to help them grow and flourish.”
Maher said: “I am excited to be starting the year with this new opportunity and am looking forward to working closely with the teams to help shape the content offerings in our provincial markets. SCA has exceptionally talented people working in these areas and the content they are producing is second to none. 2022 is shaping up to be a big year for us and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
Both appointments are effective immediately, and recruitment for the Carrie and Tommy show executive producer role will commence soon.
