Rita Ora was the first artist to perform on Nova’s Red Room stage for 2021 last night. To celebrate the release of new single Bang Bang, the performance was given to an intimate crowd at Warner Music in Sydney. People in the audience included Nova’s listeners who won tickets to the event along with Nova Talent Tim Blackwell (of Kate, Tim & Joel show) who hosted the event, smoothfm’s Richard Wilkins and newsreader Matt de Groot.
Also in attendance were Warner Music CEO Dan Rosen, VP publicity and promotions Billy MacLeod along with Nova CEO Pete Charlton and Nova chief programming and marketing officer Paul Jackson.
Ora performed a collection of number hit singles including Anywhere, Your Song, Let You Love Me, and an acoustic version of her latest hit Bang Bang. Onstage Rita said she is loving her time down under “I never want to leave. It’s so beautiful here for so many reasons”. “Thank you Nova for always being team Rita and always supporting new music and thank you to Warner – the best label in the world”.
No stranger to Nova’s Red Room stage, having performed for Melbourne fans in 2017, Rita Ora was supported by new Australian DJ duo Kinder.
Rita Ora is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, with four #1 UK singles and holds the record for the most Top 10 singles for a British female artist in the UK (13). Rita headlined this year’s Mardi Gras on 7 March and is a coach on the upcoming series of The Voice Australia.
Speaking about her time on The Voice, Ora said “It’s fun, it’s got so much amazingness and crazy surprises and the other coaches are great but I feel like I’m the best coach… but they’re all going to say that about themselves! The voice is the best show talent. Fingers crossed team Rita wins!”
Sibling duo Kinder hail from Maitland NSW and released their debut single What You’re Like in 2018 and recently released single Come Along after spending several years touring the DJ and EDM circuit, opening for Marshmello and RL Grimes.
