Triton Digital has released February’s Australian Podcast Ranker revealing the top 100 Podcasts and Top 10 Publishers in Australia from 1 February through 28 February 2021.
A number of new entities appear in the Top 100 Podcast Ranker this reporting period, including The Apology Line (Wondery), The Daily Show with Trevor Noah: Ears Edition (ARN/iHeartMedia), and
As for the All-Australian Top 100 Ranker, new entities this reporting period include The West Live (West Australian Newspapers), NSW Police State Crime Command – Investigations (SCA – LiSTNR), and Dad’s Gone (Podshape). Casefile True Crime (Audioboom) remained in the #1 spot as the most downloaded Australian podcast in the country.
Some of the big mover and shakers included:
• 7 am moved up nine spots to #4
• The Briefing moved up 16 spots to #18
• SEN breakfast moved up 22 spots to #22
• Rush Hour with JB and Billy moved up 42 spots to #26
• True Crime Garage moved up 39 spots to #28
The highest-ranking new entry comes in at #23 with Please Explain by Nine publishing. Please explain is a daily podcast hosted by national editor Tory Maguire with regular contributors.
One expected change to the charts for March is the return of new episodes of Hamish and Andy which should shoot up from its already strong position of #6.
After a three-month “enforced layover”, Hamish told listeners on their first podcast for the new year – “It’s great to be unmuzzled”.
Australia’s most successful podcasters Hamish Blake and Andy Lee have a new sponsor too – SCA’s rebranded podcast platform and on-demand app LiSTNR.
Total downloads of all shows by all participating publishers in the month of February is 43M.
