Nathan, Nat & Shaun yet again rule the Perth breakfast airwaves. Their share lifted 0.6 to 14.1% despite a comeback from Mix Breakfast. All Nova dayparts lifted with a special mention to drive where the new Kate, Tim and Joel show was up 2.3 to 15.0%. Nova held on at #1 18-24 and a jump of 2.8 pushed it to #1 25-39, overtaking Hit 92.9.

Cume climbed by a modest 3,000, but what a crucial shift it was, taking it over 500,000. There was also a significant shift in breakfast where Clairsy, Matt and Kymba went from 10.6% to 12.4%, closing the gap a little between Mix and Nova. Drive got a nice bounce to, with Mick and Jane up 1.1 to 13.0%, still trailing Nova and 96FM though. Mix maintains clear leadership with listeners 40-54.

Growth in morning and drive were the reasons for overall growth this survey. Botica’s Bunch was steady on 10.7%, now ranking as the #4 commercial breakfast show. The station very nearly became the leader for listeners 18-24 with share surging 8.6 to 16.0%.

Could the station really be considering returning to the PMFM brand after the nostalgia kick seems to be working at B105 and SAFM? This wasn’t a great survey with breakfast down 2.7 to 7.4% and smaller falls right across the day. The survey 6 crazy demo share swings here were 10-17 (halving from 28% to 14%) and a smaller 7.7 correction 18-24 representing a loss of a third of the audience.

Share jumped dramatically for Steve and Baz in breakfast with the Lord Mayor’s race no doubt helping build awareness. Covid might have helped too, although ABC Perth breakfast was steady this survey. 6PR morning and afternoon also recorded good growth. Share of listening 40-54 doubled from 5.7% to 10.3%,

The station is having its best result since 2018 with breakfast on 5.3% under Perth radio icon Ian Blackley. Most other dayparts lifted too while drive was steady on 4.4%. Listening 65+ close to doubled, up to 11.1%.
