We don’t like to highlight records for the wrong reason, but a lowest ever alert must be close for this result. The breakfast result of 8.7% is well under the station share and nearly half what the slot was on 12 months ago. All involved will be hoping new SCA content boss Dave Cameron is right when he says the audience is away sampling 96FM and will bounce back. All the demos took a hammering and Mix is a distant third where it was strongest – 40-54.

This could be the best start to a year ever for Nova Perth, but its Nathan, Nat & Shaun breakfast show has usually had a good survey 1, but its 15.5% this survey is one for the record books. The good news was spread across the day. The only show not to go up was drive, but Kate, Tim and Marty remain #1 with a big lead over the improving 96FM. Nova has taken leadership of both 18-24 and 25-39 this survey.

Another piece of magic from ARN Perth MD Gary Roberts with help from Botica’s Bunch – Fred Botica and Lisa Shaw. The station locked into double figures after the breakfast duo returned last year and 13.6% is a record high. Breakfast is on 13.3%, easily the best at the station for a long time. 96FM is also #1 in morning and afternoon while Will and Woody are a lot closer to Nova than they have ever been.

Outside of the east coast this metro survey has been tough for SCA. Red ink all over the place here – except where it matters most. Breakfast with Heidi, Xavier and Pete has held its ground on a share of 9.6% which is equal best in 12 months.

A breakfast share of 8.0% would see champagne corks popping in Sydney or Melbourne, but in a smaller market like Perth it’s more a cause for concern. Especially as this is the lowest breakfast share at the station in over four years. It’s still the highest daypart at the station though now under the care of Nine’s radio chief Tom Malone.

Great cume result with the station closing in on 6PR. Breakfast was steady over 4% but there were drops of 1.6 and 1.5 in morning and afternoon respectively. Share was up nicely 55-64 where 6iX now ranks #1, knocking over Mix and 96FM this survey.
