Youth publisher Pedestrian TV, outdoor group oOh!media and Facebook have teamed up to give out free ice cream today, all part of a PHD campaign for Ben and Jerry’s.
The market-first collaboration sees on-the-ground coverage of B&J’s free ice cream day from Pedestrian via three simultaneous Facebook livestreams in NSW, QLD and Vic at 2pm. The streams will be broadcast across oOh!media’s digital screens at universities.
Facebook’s new ‘Accelerated Boosting’ will use geo-targeting to put the stream on digital screens on campuses within 5km of a B&J’s store.
Kathryn Furnari, Group Business Director, PHD, said, “The live element of the campaign will fuel FOMO and motivate that spark for impulse attendance – it is certainly set to be the biggest Free Cone Day Australia has seen.”
Chris Wirasinha, Pedestrian Co-Founder, said, “Three simultaneous live streams hosted by Pedestrian editors will compete in a series of ice cream eating challenges in an attempt to break records. It’s a modern content solution perfect for smashing cones.”
