Pearman Media has announced the appointment of Lisa Christie as general manager.

Christie is one of Australia’s most respected media agency professionals, she joins the independent agency with more than two decades of experience under her belt.

As a seasoned media professional and business owner, she spent the early part of her career at Ogilvy & Mather and Magnus and Nankervis & Curl (FCB).

Christie went on to become a founder of the highly successful independent media agency IKON Communications during the late 1990s, helping grow the business fivefold with clients including CBA, Sony and Vodafone.

For the past 12 years Christie has run her own media agency, Media Garage, based predominantly out of Brisbane.

Dominic Pearman, founder and managing director of Pearman Media, welcomed Christie’s appointment.

“Following significant expansion during the past year, we identified a need for a general manager, and Lisa has the ideal background, having grown an independent media agency at IKON and having the hands-on expertise gained from running her own media agency,” he said.

“Lisa’s mentorship of our media teams will be invaluable, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the team,” Pearman added.

Christie joins one of Australia’s most experienced leadership teams at the agency, which includes Pearman, Steve Allen, and Bhawani Singh.

Pearman Media is 100% independent, Australian-owned and established in 1996. The agency is also a founding member of the IMAA.

Earlier this year, Pearman Media announced it acquired media agency MediaSmiths to offer a comprehensive suite of media and advertising services to clients.

“MediaSmiths has built a strong business over the past 15 years with terrific clients, and I have worked with Angela and Mike Smith for many years, including on the board of the Independent Media Agencies of Australia (IMAA),” Pearman said of the acquisition at the time.

“There is a strong synergy between both companies, which share the same ethos of nurturing transparent relationships,” Pearman added.
