Paul Blackburn exits News Corp after almost 13 years with the business: ‘It’s Time for the Next Chapter’

‘I’m so grateful for the memories we’ve created and the lessons I’ve learned from each of you.’

Paul Blackburn is leaving News Corp Australia as director of commercial data and eCommerce.

He took to LinkedIn on Friday and said: “After 12.5 Incredible Years, It’s Time for the Next Chapter”

Blackburn reflected on his “extraordinary” time with News Corp and said: “This company has given me so much—opportunities to grow, challenges to tackle, and the privilege of working with some of the most talented and inspiring people I’ve ever met.

He likened the News Corp to being family and called the talent “nothing short of extraordinary—visionaries, creators, strategists, and leaders who are passionate about what they do and the impact they create.”

“I’ve been incredibly lucky to be part of such an inspiring environment, working alongside people who don’t just deliver results but genuinely care about shaping the future of our country. It’s been a privilege to be part of that journey and contribute in my own way,” he said.

Blackburn also thanked his colleagues, mentors, and friends made along the way, “I’m so grateful for the memories we’ve created and the lessons I’ve learned from each of you.”

He concluded: “As I step into a new chapter, I do so with immense gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead. Here’s to all of us continuing to push boundaries, innovate, and create meaningful impact in whatever we do.”

Prior to new of his departure, Blackburn was promoted to the newly created role of director of commercial data & e-commerce from director, commercial data, video & product as part of News Corp’s new free news & lifestyle publishing leadership team lead by Pippa Leary.
