The biggest names in the game are returning for a blockbuster NRL Season, marking Nine’s 31st continuous year of covering rugby league.
Round one starts Thursday March 10 at 7:30 pm AEDT and will be available to watch on Nine, 9Gem and 9Now.
After the disruptions caused by Covid-19 in the previous season, clubs will be returning to their home grounds and fans will fill the stands once again. Nine will be there every week, putting viewers right in the action of the greatest game on television.
The Panthers, the 2021 season premiers, will meet the Sea Eagles on their quest for a back-to-back title. It will get underway on Hisense Thursday Night Footy.
Macca’s Friday Night Footy will place all eyes on the Rabbitohs and their new look as they play the Broncos, Under coach Jason Demetriou, Wayne Bennett’s replacement. Due to Covid-19, The Broncos lost their captain Adam Reynolds and forward Kobe Hetherington, which makes the first round an intriguing contest between two teams who have a lot to prove.
On Chemist Warehouse Sunday Footy, The Eels and the Titans will go head to head. It is their first round in a long season, but the Eels are hoping to follow their superb performance in the 2021 finals by breaking the longest drought in the NRL, and the Titans are hoping to come up higher than their eighth place last year.
Before the Eels-Titans NRL clash, Round 3 of the NRLW competition continues with a double-header. Which will see the Dragons face the Broncos in a top-of-the-table clash between the only two teams unbeaten in the first two rounds.
Then the Eels meet the Titans. Both teams are new to the NRLW and have a point to prove as contenders in the competition.
Tune in for the five contests of the NRL as Nine’s expert commentary team bring you all the action live and raise the curtain on an enthralling season of rugby league.
