Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has announced that many of its Triple M and Hit Network metro shows will forego their planned metro radio survey break to continue regular program schedules over the next two weeks.
SCA’s Hit Network and Triple M metro shows play a critical role within the communities they broadcast to and now, more than ever, these communities need the human engagement that these shows provide through their facts, fun and clear news updates.
SCA chief content officer, Dave Cameron, said: “This is all about radio doing what radio does best, companionship. Our on-air talent are acutely aware of the need to stay connected with their listeners during this uncertain time, and provide the human interaction and social connection while we are all in isolation that music streaming platforms just can’t match.
“Our shows have been amazing in keeping people informed, entertained and happy. We look forward to sharing even more of this over the Easter holiday period, when our metro shows would traditionally take a break. It’s important for our listeners to know that we’re all in this together.”
