Nine has announced a significant reshaping of its Streaming and Broadcast division, unveiling a new leadership team and structure aimed at delivering growth and boosting revenue across its linear and digital properties.
The changes, effective 1 July 2025, form part of the company’s broader Nine2028 transformation program.
Structural integration to support strategic goals
Spearheaded by Amanda Laing, Managing Director of Streaming and Broadcast, the move consolidates oversight of Channel 9, 9Now, and Stan, with new roles created to oversee entertainment, news, sport, and marketing across platforms. Laing said the restructure would position Nine to maximise value from both advertising and subscription streams.
“While Nine’s streaming and broadcast brands have enjoyed independent success, our strength lies in the power of the Nine Group and today’s changes are the first step in unlocking that potential,” Laing said.
Key appointments and reporting changes
Michael Healy has been appointed Executive Director – Entertainment, bringing his decades-long track record in local content to both broadcast and streaming.
Cailah Scobie takes on the role of Executive Director – Entertainment Content Acquisitions, tasked with aligning deals and programming across paid and free platforms.
Fiona Dear remains Executive Director – News & Current Affairs, continuing to lead editorial strategy across Nine’s news brands.
In sport, production for Wide World of Sports and Stan Sport will consolidate under Brent Williams, with Laing overseeing strategic development of sports rights and partnerships across the group.
Newly created roles include a Chief Strategy Officer and a Chief Marketing Officer for Streaming and Broadcast. Recruitment for both roles is currently underway.

State-based leadership and business accountability
Nine’s state managing directors in Queensland – Kylie Blucher, Western Australia – Clive Bingwa, and South Australia – Sean O’Brien will now report directly to Laing. The shift aims to unify Nine’s presence across metro and regional markets.
P+L responsibility has been split among three executives: Hamish Turner will oversee Channel 9, multi-channels and 9Now; Dan Taylor continues as Executive Director of Stan; and Tom Malone remains Managing Director of Nine Radio.
A step toward greater integration
The restructure signals Nine’s intent to streamline operations and better align its commercial and strategic goals across multiple platforms. For media buyers and advertisers, the unified structure could offer more consistent and measurable opportunities across free-to-air, BVOD and SVOD environments.
Laing described the strategy as building on momentum already underway: “There is immense opportunity to drive growth for the Nine Group… and I’m excited to leverage [our team’s] experience across our streaming and broadcast brands.”
Further announcements regarding the new appointments and marketing plans are expected in the coming weeks.
