Nine Entertainment has today announced the appointment of senior digital executive Rebecca Haagsma to the newly created role of chief product officer.
Haagsma will lead Nine’s digital product capability, encompassing product vision, strategy, management, and design, as well as data product, to further accelerate Nine’s digital growth across its television, publishing and audio businesses.
Haagsma joins Nine from Telstra, where she was on the product and technology senior leadership team and held strategy, commercial, relationship and digital product responsibilities across Telstra, including Telstra TV, Foxtel, Sport, Telstra Payphone and Outdoor Network.
Nine’s chief digital officer, Alex Parsons said of Haagsma’s appointment: “Bec is an exceptional talent and brings more than 20 years’ experience in product innovation and digital media leadership to the role.
“In addition to her recent experiences at Telstra, Bec was previously with the Nine business where she was an integral part of the creation of the strategy, development and launch of 9Now.
“We’re excited to welcome her back to the Nine family to help make product and technology a core component and differentiator in the future of Nine, and a key enabler to the ongoing and increasing success of our digital business,” he added.
Haagsma said of her appointment: “I’m really excited about joining the Nine group in the role of chief product officer. Haagsma commences her role as chief product officer in early July 2022.
