News Corp Australia’s chief financial officer Susan Panuccio has been appointed CFO of parent company News Corp, replacing Bedi Singh.
Announcing the appointment, News Corp executive chairman Rupert Murdoch said of Panuccio: “Her superb work at News Corp Australia makes her the ideal successor to Bedi, and we look forward to her joining us at headquarters as we take on new opportunities in the years ahead.”
News Corp chief executive Robert Thomson added: “I have had the professional pleasure of working closely with Susan Panuccio, and she’s the right person to drive the next important phase of growth at News Corp. Susan is rigorous in her work and strategic in her thinking.”
Panuccio joined the company’s Australian operations in 2013. She previously served at News International in the UK in several positions, including CFO. She began her career as a senior accountant at KPMG Australia.
“I am looking forward to the next exciting challenge in my career at News Corp, having worked for the company in both the UK and Australia. I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to work with our talented executive teams across the businesses,” said Panuccio.
Panuccio was amongst the News Corp Australia team at the formal launch event for Fox League last week in Sydney at Birchgrove Oval.
News Corp Australasia’s executive chairman Michael Miller congratulated Panuccio on her appointment.
“This is a tremendous promotion for Susan and I am thrilled that she has been given this well-deserved recognition. Susan is an exceptional leader and since she joined us in 2013, her drive, strategic thinking and expertise has been integral to transforming our business and setting it up for the next stage of growth,” Miller said.
