Network 10 loses two newsroom legends in latest overhaul
Daniel Sutton and Julia Burrell have taken voluntary redundancies.

Network 10 has confirmed the voluntary redundancies of 10 News+ executive producer Daniel Sutton and Sydney 5pm bulletin executive producer Julia Burrell, as the broadcaster continues reshaping its early evening news strategy.
The departures, confirmed in an email seen by Mediaweek, bring to a close more than 40 years of combined newsroom experience and come less than a year after the launch of 10 News+.
Sutton has spent more than two decades at Network 10, holding several senior editorial positions including serving as the network's US correspondent before taking the helm of 10 News+.
Burrell, also a veteran of more than 20 years, has been a central figure in the Sydney newsroom, leading election coverage, major breaking news events and mentoring generations of journalists.
Management pays tribute
In an email seen by Mediaweek, Network 10's vice president of news Martin White acknowledged both departures, describing them as highly respected newsroom leaders whose contributions had shaped the network over more than two decades.

White said Sutton had become "a true leader in our division" and praised "his tireless work as an EP over the last 12 months," adding: "We will all greatly miss his editorial nous and his sense of humour."
He also paid tribute to Burrell, describing her as "the powerhouse of the Sydney newsroom" who had "developed and mentored countless staff, helmed elections and rolling coverage with skill and commitment."
White added: "On a personal and professional level, I'm going to miss them both very much. They are both great news people, and great humans."
Leadership changes for 10 News+
The email also outlined interim leadership arrangements for 10 News+.
Sutton is expected to leave in the coming weeks, while Burrell will remain with the network for a longer transition period.
Dom Haylen will temporarily oversee 10 News+ before returning to the 5pm bulletin, with Michael Reid expected to take over the role when he returns later this year.
The changes follow Network 10's broader overhaul of its early evening news offering, which recently saw the network expand its weekday 5pm local bulletins while scaling back 10 News+ to a Sunday-only format.
