The Rose d’Or has announced that over 200 programmes from 30 countries have been selected for consideration in the final stages of Rose d’Or 2022.
The shortlisted programs include a number from Australia. This is only the first step to winning though. The nominees for Rose d’Or 2022 will be announced at the start of November, ahead of the Awards which will be presented on November 28th.
The Rose d’Or Awards celebrate excellence and achievement in International TV and Audio program making.
The awards began in 1961, when it was created by Swiss Television in the lakeside city of Montreux and has been a flagship event for the European Broadcasting Union and the international TV industry ever since.
All the shortlisted Australian TV programming is screened on either ABC or SBS. Producers represented include Endemol Shine Australia, CJZ, Bunya Productions, Guesswork Television and Northern Pictures.
Alex Horne, the award-winning comedian, author and podcaster, will host this year’s Rose d’Or Awards, the 61st annual ceremony, which also streams on 28th November 2022 online and live to the first night of Content London.
Horne is the creator and co-host of the hit TV Show, Taskmaster, which was nominated for a Rose d’Or Award last year. Channel 10 has commissioned an Australian version of the series for 2023 to be hosted by Tom Gleeson.
