Mix 102.3 presenter Erin Phillips has announced she has decided to scale back her radio commitments to focus on her professional football career.
The radio presenter, who is AFLW’s most decorated player, made the announcement on-air during the Ali Clarke Breakfast Show on Friday.
Phillips’ news comes after her decision to make the switch from the Crows to join Port Adelaide earlier this year.
The footy star said: “It has been a challenge managing full-time radio, football, and a young family, with all the demands they require and deserve.
“With my recent move to Port Adelaide, I’ve been considering where I need to direct my energy and passion in my professional career, and I’ve decided to put my focus into football.
“I’ve loved my time at Mix 102.3 and am so appreciative of the opportunities I have had, the people I work with and the fun we have on air (but not so much the early mornings).
“I am excited that I will still be a part of the Ali Clarke Breakfast Show and contributing to a weekly Friday spot with the breakfast team,” she added.
Duncan Campbell, ARN’s chief content officer, said: “Erin Philips is a much-loved member of the Mix 102.3 Breakfast team.
“We respect and support her decision to lighten her radio schedule so she can focus on her number one passion, football, and are pleased she will remain a part of the show,” he added.
Phillips co-presented the Adelaide-based The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show with host Clarke and comedian Eddie Bannon, which debuted earlier this year.
The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show replaced the previous show of Erin Phillips & Soda for Breakfast.
Mark Soderstrom announced his departure in December last year, after helming the breakfast slot since 2014. His long time co-host Jody Oddy departed in 2020.
