Queensland production studio The Steve Jaggi Company has announced their newest project, Mistletoe Ranch. The feature romance is currently filming across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and surrounds.
Directed by Rhiannon Bannenberg, the film stars Mercy Cornwall and Jordi Webber and is described as an uplifting tale of love rediscovered.
Mistletoe Ranch is supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland‘s Screen Finance Program and is expected to inject $2.6 million into the local economy. It will employ an estimated 70 Queensland cast and crew.
Screen Queensland is a government-owned screen agency that invests in production, talent development programs, and screen culture festivals. The agency supports locally produced films and secures international and interstate production for Queensland.
CEO Kylie Munnich said Mistletoe Ranch is an addition to The Steve Jaggi Company’s recent slate of work, all produced in Queensland
“Mistletoe Ranch follows on from The Mystery of Dolphin Bay, which employed 75 Queenslanders and injected an estimated $2.5 million into Queensland’s economy,” Munnich said.
“The latest Steve Jaggi Company productions that we supported include Dive Club and This Little Love of Mine, both filmed in Far North Queensland. Both hit Netflix worldwide last year with chart-topping views.
Director Rhiannon Bannenberg said she is excited to film the movie in Queensland, using movie magic to create a landscape blanketed in snow.
Mistletoe Ranch is a heart-warming ode to enduring love and being true to yourself, a charming love story between two childhood sweethearts.” Bannenburg said of the movie.
Producer Steve Jaggi said that after a busy 2021, it feels fantastic to be back in production on our next feature film.
“We’ve assembled a talented cast and crew, and some beautiful equine friends to help bring this hopeful story to life,” He said.
Athabasca Film is handling Australian theatrical distribution for Mistletoe Ranch, while Blue Fox Entertainment will represent the film on the global market.
