Michelle Hutton has announced her departure from Edelman as vice chair of Asia Pacific, after 13 years with the agency.
On Thursday, she took to LinkedIn to share the news, writing: “I am leaving Edelman this month, after 13 wonderful years with the agency that has trusted me with leadership roles around the world and given me opportunities that I could not have imagined when I first joined to run the business in Australia.”
Hutton explained that she has begun her extended and planned summer break in the UK and Europe in which she plans to “reflect and re-energise”.
“I’m so excited to meet up with friends and industry colleagues that I haven’t seen in-person since pre-covid years,” she add.
Hutton noted that she will be ending her journey with Edelman by moderating a panel at the International Women’s Forum Cornerstone Conference in Helsinki titled “The How and Why of Happiness.”
“We will be exploring why Finland has been ranked the world’s happiest country for a fifth year in a row. I will let you know what I uncover in my conversation with leading researchers and senior female leaders from around the globe,” she said.
Hutton thank her Edelman colleagues, leaders and mentors from around the world. She said: “It’s been an honour to learn from you all and I will always be your biggest cheerleader.”
Hutton rounded out her thanks with a special shout out to CEO of Edelman, Richard Edelman, whom she said his leadership “makes this [Edelman] the powerhouse agency it is.”
“Thank you for the many opportunities you gave me to leave my mark here and I wish you much continued success. You deserve it. See you on the other side,” she concluded.
Earlier this year, Edelman Australia announced key role changes for three members of its team.
The firm has welcomed the promotions of Drew Collins to head of social and influencer, Jasmin Malam as head of production, as well as the recent appointment of Monique McLaughlin as head of healthcare.
