Media Movers across the industry include:
• Anna Caldwell has been appointed editor of The Saturday Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail. She begins in the role on Tuesday 21st February. Caldwell replaces Kevin Healey who was named editor of The Australian earlier this year.
• The Age announced the appointments of Mat Dunckley and Orietta Guerrera as deputy editors.
Dunckley spent the past several months as acting deputy editor at the masthead and was previously the digital editor. Orietta was recently the reader editor across the metro publications at Nine.
• Integrated advertising agency Spinach announced the appointment of Dom Megna as executive creative director. Megna will help lead the creative output of the business across a range of clients, including Jalna Dairy Foods, Drummond Golf, Geeks2U, Bushman Repellent, Mr Chen’s and Homebuyers Centre.

• Clinton Maynard has been named as the host of Australia Overnights (Weekends), a nightly weekend programme syndicated across Nine radio stations.
• Gemma Williams returns to A Current Affair as Sydney bureau chief after a year as a producer on Ben Fordham Live on 2GB.
• Lucy Stone moves into a communications role at Ipswich City Council as senior media officer after several years in journalism. She was most recently a digital reporter at the ABC in Brisbane.
• Full service agency This is Flow announced the appointment of Catherine Rushton as the agency’s first chief strategy officer, strengthening its strategic offering exponentially.
She will provide strategic leadership for the independent agency’s growing client portfolio and assist in the mentorship for the strategic minds coming through the agency.

• Bronte Charles begins her new role as digital producer/journalist at NITV News. She covers Indigenous affairs and original Indigenous storytelling including lifestyle, arts, political and education.
• David Scutt will leave ausbiz after two years. He has been the anchor and host of The Big Picture and Global View.
• Charlotte Huston will step into the role of assistant editor of Australian Design Review and inside (Interior Design Review).
• Nick Hose will step into the anchor seat for the 7NEWS regional nightly bulletins. He will present 7NEWS North Coast, 7NEWS New England, 7NEWS Central West, 7NEWS Riverina, and 7NEWS Border with Madelaine Collignon.
• 9News has announced changes to its team; Margie McLew steps into the position of deputy news director following a stint as executive producer of the 6pm Bulletin. Taking over as EP role of the 6pm Bulletin is Tanya Weingarth. Meanwhile, Amber Cunneen has been appointed as foreign editor.
• Optimizely has announced it has named digital marketing veterans Shafqat Islam and Sebastiaan de Jong as chief marketing officer and chief sales officer, respectively.

• The Age has appointed Sophie Boyd as social media editor. She first joined the publication as a social media producer/journalist in 2022.
• UM has announced the appointment of Sasha Savic as global chief executive officer. Savic will set the vision for the agency’s global growth while overseeing strategy, product, operations and management of clients including American Express, Honda, Johnson & Johnson, Levi Strauss & Co., Nestlé and Sony, among others.

• Joining ABC Tasmania’s Statewide Afternoons is Kyia Clayton in the role of producer, following her role as producer for the Statewide Weekends programme.
• Charlotte Batty returns as a producer for the ABC’s Behind the News. She previously a senior social media adviser at the Department for Education South Australia.
• Komo Technologies has welcomed Aussie Merciadez to the new role of global chief of customer engagement and loyalty partnerships.
