Media Movers takes a look at the recent movements announced across the industry during the week of 20/11/23

Media Movers across the industry include:

• Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson have re-signed with ARN in a deal that will see the duo remain on air with the network until the end of 2034.

The move comes as ARN is in the midst of an ambitious move to acquire the Triple M Network and more regional radio stations from SCA.

Peter Hitchener will step down from the weekday role at Channel 9 Melbourne after 25 years and will move to weekends in 2024.

Kathryn Diss is the ABC’s new Europe Correspondent based in London.

• ARN has renewed the contract for Gold 104.3’s breakfast host Christian O’Connell for five more years taking him to 2029 and beyond.

ARN confirmed O’Connell would continue broadcasting alongside Jack Post and Patrina Jones.

 • Megan Papas will join the Jono and Ben Show on The Hits on 22 January 2024.

Stacey Lee will be the new afternoon host on FIVEaa in 2024.

Are Media has appointed Katherine Davison as the editor of the prominent Australian celebrity news and entertainment brand, WHO, to guide its omnichannel content strategy and elevate the household brand to new heights.

Davison, formerly the managing editor of entertainment, lifestyle, and commercial editorial at Seven Network’s 7NEWS.com.au, is set to commence her role on Monday, November 27.

Harry Parsons has been promoted to senior branded content manager at Man of Many.

Luke Mcllveen is now the principal of Mcllveen Moran Media.

Bryce Crosswell has been appointed as head of digital sales in Melbourne for SCA.

Crosswell joins SCA from Acast, where he was the group business director of Victoria. He has more than 11 years of experience in the advertising and media industry in sales and management roles.

• ABC News Presenter Tahlea Ausaliitia will finish on December 15 2023.

• Better Homes and Gardens presenter Ed Halmagyi has announced he will leave the program on December 1 2023.

Ebony Abblitt has now finished as the senior journalist at WIN TV Rockhampton.

• RyanCap has been acquired by French-based group Labelium in a move that strengthens its position in the data-driven marketing and digital media market.

The acquisition will give RyanCap clients access to globally integrated services, including marketing, offline and digital media buying, programmatic and tracking, social commerce, influencer marketing and business growth advisory.
