The 2023 cast of Married At First Sight Australia (MAFS) have reportedly already filmed their weddings and honeymoons, with the cast perhaps the most eclectic of the reality TV series yet.
MAFS is a consistent rating topper for Channel Nine, with the 2022 season claiming the top spot for the 7.30 pm timeslot every night it aired. With an average national audience of 1.9 million viewers per episode, the April finale was the highest rating nin-sports program of 2022, with an average audience of 2.3 million viewers.
With the cast having already moved into their apartments to start their married lives, most cast members have switched their social media accounts to private until filming wraps.
Last year, Mediaweek spoke to the then executive producer of MAFS Tara McWilliams on how she brought the show’s biggest season yet to screens.
Speaking to Mediaweek in December of 2022, McWilliams discussed how she approached making such an unpredictable series: “On this show, I think the shock for a lot of us was that we’re completely along for the ride in many respects.
“I found that really difficult at first because you’re kind of like, ‘Oh God, I don’t know how to plan for the next day. I’ve now completely embraced it. I love making the show that way, I love that we come in with a plan and in many respects hope that it doesn’t go to plan – because that’s what makes the show so exciting.”
The new series of MAFS is slated to air in early 2023.
