LiSTNR has announced the return of Rosie Waterland to the mic on the Just the Gist podcast with co-host Jacob Stanley.
If it’s an incredible story in the form of a famous scandal, true crime, celeb drama, conspiracy theory, politics or just amazing people throughout history, Waterland and Stanley will tell you about it without getting bogged down in any of the boring bits. You’ll get ‘just the gist’ of what you need to know – only the juiciest, most entertaining details. You know, the ones that make you look very smart and interesting when you repeat them at dinner parties.
In further exciting news, Just the Gist will now publish two episodes a week. Every Tuesday, Waterland and Stanley will shock and entertain each other with the world’s most fascinating true stories, and on Thursdays, they will share ‘Breakin’ Nooz’.
Regular listeners will know Breakin Nooz as a well-loved segment during which Waterland and Stanley share the most absurd news stories from the past week and insights into each other’s lives and friendship, and this year Breakin’ Nooz will become its own stand-alone episode.
Just the Gist has enjoyed enormous growth in the past few months, recording its biggest month of downloads last December, and its highest unique audience ever.
In just the last year, the podcast saw a 35% rise in listeners and is up 56% in downloads. In December 2022 it also jumped 11 spots in the Triton Podcast Ranker.
Having spent the past eight months working on her mental and physical health, Waterland said she is excited to be back in the hot seat.
“I’m so thrilled to be back doing what I love most – entertaining people by telling amazing stories on Just the Gist and having Jacob laugh at all my jokes.
“I’m so grateful to our loyal ‘Gisteners’ and the outpouring of support they gave to both myself and Jacob while I was away. The massive community that has grown around Just the Gist, all across the world, is a great one,” she added.
During 2022, co-host Stanley continued to share stories with special guest hosts, including LiSTNR’s own Abbie Chatfield, Charlie Clausen, Turia Pitt, as well as Shameless’ Michelle & Zara and comedian Nat’s What I Reckon.
Stanley is equally excited to have his partner in crime back. He said: “2023 is going to be such a fantastic year and we’re all so pumped. There is a lot to be excited about and primarily we’re thrilled to have Rosie back and feeling so great.”
