KIIS FM hosts Will & Woody attempt the World Record for most ‘distant’ shave

KIIS FM - Will and Woody

Their hilarious attempt at the challenge was done in of support men’s health charity Movember

KIIS FM National Drive show hosts, Will McMahon & Woody Whitelaw, have thrown their support behind men’s health charity Movember with their hilarious attempt at the World Record for the most ‘distant’ shave.

Armed with goggles, a batman mask, and a funnel, McMahon bravely put his face on the line for men’s health. Allowing KIIS FM listener Wayne to cast a fishing line – with an electric razor attached – over the balcony of MoHQ with a 20-metre drop.

The challenge was made more extreme by mother nature, who decided to throw in some wind and rain for good measure. Queue impending chaos (i.e., drones crashing into buildings) and all the laughs you would expect from this comedic duo.

The distant shave seemed an unlikely feat, but the steady hands of Wayne got them there.

Wayne dropped the buzzing razor down the side of the building with relative ease, quickly landing it in the funnel and on Will’s upper lip. A few follicle casualties meant a green light for this epic shave down challenge.

Will & Woody are long time Mo Bros, who actively get involved in the men’s health movement. Talking openly about their mental health struggles and the importance of having meaningful conversations with mates. Something that the guys do on-air almost every day.

McMahon said: “Movember is an initiative close to both of our hearts – with so many men’s health issues including mental health being so unspoken about. We often use our show as a platform to dig deeper into what may be uncomfortable or extremely vulnerable conversations and working with Movember has further ignited our passion to champion the cause.”

Whitelaw added: “We would do just about anything for such a great cause like Movember, especially if it means shaving Will’s mo from four stories high. We look forward to using this month as a chance to have an open dialogue about the men’s health issues that are impacting those all across the country.”

Movember’s APAC country director Rachel Carr said: “We’re pumped to have KIIS FM National Radio Drive show hosts, and two of our most loved Mo Bros, Will & Woody, getting behind Movember for another hair-raising year. Taking on a shave down of epic heights in the name of men’s health.

“They are starting important conversations about men’s health issues and rallying their community to join the movement to help stop our fathers, brothers, partners, sons and mates from dying too young. Every cent and every conversation counts,” she added.

Globally, men are dying five years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons. In Australia, 3 out of 4 of suicides are men, 1 in 5 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men. It has never been more important to confront, challenge and change men’s health to help men live happier, healthier lives.
