The Publicis Groupe Connected Careers program gives its employees across its agency businesses job opportunities and career paths across Australia and overseas.
Kauri Davies, people and culture co-ordinator at Publicis Groupe, took part in the offering moving from the company’s New Zealand office to Melbourne.
Davies spoke to Mediaweek about moving from the New Zealand office to Melbourne, his highlights, and what he hopes to achieve in the role.
After graduating from university, Davies started in a contractor role in recruitment with the hopes of moving into an HR generalist position.
Davies eventually found the role with Publicis Groupe and was successful with his application, joining the company’s New Zealand people and culture team. He has since taken on a new challenge and adventure by crossing the ditch to be part of the Melbourne people and culture team.
In the role, he looks after the day-to-day running of Publicis Groupe’s agencies.
“This includes immigration, on- and off-boarding, recruitment, people and culture initiatives, statistics and more. I would say each day is different, which makes the job interesting and fun,” he explained.
For Davis, being part of the Melbourne team has been the highlight. He shared: “There is a family feel, which makes working that much easier.”
A challenge he is working on is the breadth of agencies he manages. “As a P&C function, we service multiple agencies in both creative and media, so time is of the essence,” he said.
“That being said, we get to work with amazing people with diverse sets of skills and experiences, which has enabled me to build great relationships,” Davies added.
Looking ahead, Davies shared that he hopes for further growth in the role. He said: “Learning new ways of working and being put in uncomfortable situations to then evolve and become more comfortable is my goal for the coming months.
“My top priority is building relationships with our agencies, as the human connection, I feel, is still the most important aspect of any role,” Davies added.
