Melbourne news presenter Jo Hall is set to launch a new project, Great Australian Lives, to be broadcast on radio station 3AW from this Sunday.
After more than 38 years as a prominent face in the lounge rooms of millions of Melburnians, Hall will get behind the microphone to uncover the stories of prominent Australians, in a new hour-long chat program partnered by Tobin Brothers Funerals – Celebrating Lives.
Hall will celebrate the lives of some of Australia’s most influential and prolific personalities from a diverse range of backgrounds – entertainers, humanitarians and those with untold stories.
The weekly program, airing Sunday nights at 8pm on 3AW, will kick off this weekend with revered Australian television, film and stage actor Michael Caton.
Hall said it was an honour to be starting her own venture on Melbourne’s #1 radio station. “I’m thrilled to be joining 3AW, as it’s a station that’s been dear to me for as long as I can remember.
“The program represents a fantastic opportunity to explore in-depth the stories of some of our most amazing people. They’re also often our busiest people, so it’s a real privilege to hear them talk so candidly and give honest insights into their remarkable journeys.”
3AW Operations Director, Stephen Beers, welcomed Jo and the program to the 3AW lineup. “Jo is a highly respected journalist and newsreader. With years of experience in television, it is exciting to hear her expand into radio. 3AW is the perfect home for Great Australian Lives, with the fascinating guests and inspiring stories.”
Hall will soon be seen across Victoria as the presenter of the new Nine/Southern Cross Austereo evening regional news.
