• 18 ordinary Australians will go on the run from a team of expert Hunters

The Australian version of Hunted follows nine pairs of ordinary Australians who become fugitives in this new series coming Sunday, July 17 at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play.

In this real-life game of cat and mouse, 18 ordinary Australians will go on the run from a team of expert Hunters. As paranoia sets in, our Fugitives must go to great lengths to evade capture for 21 days. Where will they hide? Who can they trust?

Flying under the radar to avoid detection from the Hunters is no easy feat, with some of the country’s top experts working to track their every move.

Those who manage to outsmart the Hunters and make it to a final Extraction Point will win a share of the $100,000 prize money.

How does Hunted work?

With limited funds and resources, the fugitives must think of ways to survive and remain undetected on the run for 21 days. Surrounded by surveillance, the fugitives will constantly look over their shoulder, weighing up the risk and return of every move.

Hunting them down are some of the world’s best investigators formerly of the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Australian Defence Force (ADF), British Intelligence, special ops and private security alongside skilled cyber analysts who will combine their expertise with replicated powers of state.

How the fugitives choose to avoid being captured is up to them. Some will head for the hills, others will lay low on Melbourne’s city streets, yet survival is possibly their easiest challenge. Marooned in society, cut off from family, friends and all electronic devices, the psychological impact of their venture will play out over the weeks, as their sense of loneliness and paranoia intensifies during the experiment.

Meanwhile, with their reputations on the line, their hunter adversaries will employ any means possible to track the fugitives down. Based at Hunted HQ and with multiple ground hunting teams on the road, the hunters will use cutting-edge technology to analyse intelligence.

They may also replicate the powers of surveillance available to the state such as CCTV, ANPR (automatic number plate recognition), and access bank and phone records.

They will be able to search fugitives’ homes, data-mine their electronic equipment, and interrogate family, friends and associates.
