HOYTS cinema crews get a style shake-up
HOYTS unveils red and black polos designed with staff and guest input.

HOYTS is refreshing the look of its cinema teams with a new uniform, featuring red and black polos designed for practicality across the full range of crew duties, from Candy Bar service and guest check-in to post-film cleaning.
Design process
The uniforms were developed with Total Image Group following consultation with staff and guests. HOYTS Cinema Operations General Manager Christina Langdon said comfort, functionality and visibility were the priorities identified by crew members.
"When we approached the team to discuss the most important design elements for our new uniforms, comfort, functionality and visibility emerged as the key priorities," Langdon said.
Comfort and choice
The new polos use a cotton-backed fabric chosen for breathability and freedom of movement. Crew will also have a range of styling options to choose from within the new uniform, aimed at balancing individual comfort with a consistent look across cinemas.
Langdon said guest feedback specifically called out the importance of being able to identify staff easily in a busy venue. The new black polos feature red panels and the HOYTS logo on the upper left chest.
The refresh replaces the previous all-black uniform of long-sleeved button-up shirts and black pants, which crew said was impractical for some cinema tasks.
What's next?
The polo rollout is the first stage of a broader uniform refresh, with new styles for HOYTS LUX and Arties Bar staff expected later this year. Guests will begin seeing crew in the new uniforms over the coming weeks.
