Heath Aston has joined Woolworths Group as head of media relations. He moves to the retailer after three years working in the NSW Government.

Aston announced the appointment on LinkedIn, saying he looked forward to joining the “important, public-facing Australian company” and helping tell its story.

Move from NSW Government

Aston previously served as director of communications and media for John Graham, NSW Special Minister of State, Minister for Transport, Minister for the Arts, and Minister for Music and the Night-time Economy.

He described his three years working for Graham as “the most rewarding – and action-packed” period of his career.

“It was a privilege to work for a minister whose public profile as an intelligent and principled political leader is only bettered behind the scenes as a caring boss who backed my instincts and judgement every day,” Aston said.

“The countless laughs along the way helped get me through the daunting workload and media schedule.”

Aston also thanked members of Graham’s ministerial office for their support during his time in government.
