Hatched has been recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand’s Best Places to Work, on the 2022 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work List.
The media agency ranked second place on the Media and Marketing list, from a total of more than 750 nominated organisations in all categories across Australia and New Zealand.
The prestigious annual list, published by The Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine, is based on a rigorous assessment process managed by Australian behavioural science consultancy Inventium.
Hatched was recognised for its people-first approach including the appointment of a Shadow Board, a junior leadership team that leads decisions within the business such as working from home policies with the team utilising the employee experience platform Culture Amp to source engagement data and focus efforts on areas of positive impact.
Other initiatives at Hatched that led to the placement include the availability of five additional days of leave dedicated to employee wellbeing and a Belongings & Connection team focused on diversity and inclusion, as well as values coaching which helps staff to be the best they can be.
Virginia Scully, Hatched’s people and culture director, said: “We’re thrilled to rank second in the Best Places to Work list this year. In an industry with an incredibly high churn rate such as ours, culture is the best point of difference.
“This is a true testament to all of the effort put in by our Hatchlings to create a supportive, inclusive and unique culture,” he added.
Inventium’s assessment was made up of a staff survey and a written submission, with questions relating to policies, practices and programs that exist within the organisation to support and get the best out of employees.
The methodology is underpinned by Inventium’s Workplaces of the Future framework, which identifies 10 key factors that are critical to employees feeling motivated and engaged at work.
Inventium founder Dr Amantha Imber said: “Inventium is proud to announce the 2022 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work list in conjunction with the Australian Financial Review.
“We have undertaken extensive research into what truly makes a brilliant workplace and we are thrilled to recognise many organisations who are leading the way with innovative practices that drive key elements such as flexibility, wellbeing and equality,” she added.
