The Guardian in the US has announced it now has over 300,000 paying supporters in America, a growing source of funding that accounts for more than a third of its US revenue. The Guardian reports its 300,000 paying US supporters include a mix of members, recurring contributors, one-time contributors and digital subscribers.
Since The Guardian began asking American readers to voluntarily contribute in September 2016, it has received more than 230,000 one-time contributions from the US. In addition, it has secured 73,000 recurring paying relationships in the US, including members, recurring contributors, and digital subscribers.

Guardian Media Group is in the second year of its three-year plan to break even at operating level by April 2019.
