GroupM, the media investment group of WPP, has appointed two new hires at its addressable TV business Finecast.
Launched in Australia in October last year, GroupM says Finecast is the only dedicated addressable TV business in Australia, combining the precision of digital with the power of TV.
It partners with broadcasters Seven, Nine, Ten, SBS and Foxtel via MCN and data partners including Experian, Nielsen, ABS, and GroupM’s [m]PLATFORM to deliver addressable TV screens in Australia.
Since launch more than 25 clients have adopted Finecast’s targeting capabilities and run more than 60 addressable TV campaigns in Australia.
Patricia Munoz and Sheryl Chen are joining Finecast as client strategy managers, expanding the team and putting resource on the ground in Melbourne to drive the next stage of growth.
Munoz will be based in Sydney and joins from GroupM agency Essence where she spearheaded the agency’s early advanced TV strategies. Chen joins from Xaxis and will be based in Melbourne.
Both will report to Tania David, Finecast head of marketing and business development.
Brett Poole, managing director of Finecast Australia, said: “I’m thrilled to announce Patricia and Sheryl are hitting the ground this month. Finecast is leading the way in addressable TV, and their enthusiasm and experience will help facilitate the transformation of traditional TV plans with the additional of digital-like precision.
“We have big plans for the remainder of the year as we continue to build the addressable ecosystem in Australia through data partnerships with broadcasters, our own proprietary data in collaboration with the [m]PLATFORM team and measurement tools with Kantar Lightspeed and OzTAM.”
The news comes as Nicole Turley’s six-month secondment with Finecast comes to an end.
Poole adds: “Nicole brought a wealth of TV and client experience to Finecast and has been a huge support over the last six months as client consultant. I’d personally like to thank Nicole for joining Finecast at a critical phase of growth to facilitate TV knowledge in the team, help navigate client needs and further develop the business. She leaves us to seek new opportunities after five years at GroupM/Mediacom – we wish her all the best in her next venture.”
Turley said: “It’s been a fascinating adventure being part of Finecast’s growth phase and being able to partner with Brett and the team. I’ve spent an incredible five years at Mediacom and GroupM and have loved the opportunity to gain experience in a marketing technology start-up that is leading innovation in television advertising. It’s a fantastic time to be in media and marketing and I’m looking forward to the next opportunity.”
