Gravity Media Australia has confirmed and outlined the broadcast technology and television production coverage of Events South Australia’s 2024 Santos Tour Down Under across Australia and multiple international territories.
Women and men UCI World professional cycling teams will race on the streets of Adelaide and across regional South Australia in a total of nine stages and two criteriums this month. The Santos Tour Down Under, in partnership with Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), is the opening event of the UCI World, which also includes the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana.
Gravity Media Australia has been appointed by Events South Australia as the “host” broadcast company and production partner for the event for the Santos Tour Down Under for a fourth year.
Gravity Media Australia is deploying high-definition outside broadcast trucks and satellite units, more than 15 cameras, including on-board “chase” motorcycles and coverage from the air with a helicopter camera, and a crew of up to 100 to cover the Santos Tour Down Under as it travels more than 1,000 kilometres across South Australia.
The production company will also deploy specialist broadcast technology and communications services through its Globecam business, which is internationally acknowledged for its innovation in the development of world-leading speciality miniature cameras and RF communications solutions.
As the “host” broadcast company, Gravity Media Australia has also been appointed as the television production company for the event, creating, producing, and delivering the complete television production of the Santos Tour Down Under for the world.
The production company has also been appointed to create and produce the Seven Network’s coverage of the Santos Tour Down Under, via the SNG fleet and introducing highly mobile cellular and cloud-based technologies linking to the Gravity Media Production Centre in Sydney to streamline and enhance the efficient delivery of Seven’s complete broadcast production.
Gravity Media’s production will encompass 40 hours of live coverage and the production and delivery of a daily highlights programme for Australian, including the Seven Network in Australia, and international audiences.
