Sky News Australia has announced Christopher Pyne will host a new ten-part series, Global Focus with Christopher Pyne, airing on Sundays at 5:30pm on Sky News.
As Australia’s former minister for defence, Pyne will draw on his extensive global experience and longstanding political career, with the program set to feature interviews with international heavyweights and experts as they discuss the importance of Australia’s relationships worldwide.
The series will go to air as the country prepares to reopen its borders, almost two years after the Covid-19 pandemic first swept the globe.
Pyne said: “In a world of headline grabbing 10 second sound bites, it will be different to take a vital subject and unpack it with one, well informed guest.”
Drawing on his vast global relationships and alliances as former minister for Industry Innovation and Science and Defence Industry and Defence, the program will draw focus to one key topic each week which will then be discussed and analysed by Pyne and a special guest.
Guests accompanying Pyne on the program include Joseph Wu, Taiwan’s Foreign Minister; Alastair Campbell, commentator and former campaign director to Tony Blair; Zach Wamp, former US Congressman; Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs; Tom Tugendhat, British Conservative Party politician; Pamela Melroy, Deputy Administrator of NASA; Kirstjen Nielsen, former US Secretary of Homeland Security and The Australian’s Paul Monk and David Kilcullen.
Last month News Corp also announced that Piers Morgan would be launching a show to to air on Sky News in early 2022.
