2GB 11.5%
Breakfast: Alan Jones 14.3%
Despite Alan Jones slipping 1.2 points, he continues to lead by a considerable margin. KIIS FM is 2.0 points behind, which is as about as close as anyone has ever got to the master. Drive with Ben Fordham was the only show not to slip a little, although his share of 8.0% is the station’s lowest. The biggest dip was in evenings after 7pm where Ross Greenwood and Steve Price share the audience. Although share was down 2.8, they still command a market-leading 14.2%.
KIIS 1065 9.5%
Breakfast: Kyle and Jackie O 12.3%
The biggest survey result ever in breakfast for the FM champs who don’t look like losing their grip on their audience. Many people wrote them off yet again after the Steve Smith/Intern Pete “incident” but that obviously did little damage to the brand. People who don’t understand their success don’t listen. Elsewhere at the station the new drive show from Will and Woody lifted 1.9 to 11.0%. Demo shares lifted 25-39 (+ 1.7 to 15.8%) and 40-54 (+2.3 to 9.7%).
smoothfm 95.3 8.5%
Breakfast: Bogart Torelli and Glenn Daniel 6.6%
Hardly any movement across the day with the evening show the only significant change with share down 0.9 to 8.4% where it still ranks #1 FM. Share 18-24 was down 5.4 to 6.0% yet core demo 40-54 was up 1.9 to 10.8%.
WSFM 8.4%
Breakfast: Jonesy and Amanda 8.1%
Both breakfast and drive were down 0.9 with a smaller drop in afternoon and growth of 1.0 to 8.2% in evening, where the station trails smoothfm by only 0.2. Despite smoothfm growing and WSFM dropping 40-54, WSFM maintains a narrow lead in the demo.
Nova 96.9 6.9%
Breakfast: Fitzy and Wippa 6.9%
Breakfast was the bright spot in a survey where all other dayparts slipped. Fitzy and Wippa bucked the trend to lift 0.4 to 6.9% while Kate, Tim and Marty dipped 0.3 to 10.2% and were overtaken by an improving Will and Woody at KIIS. Share 18-24 surged 4.0 to 16.6% to put Nova #1 in that demo.
Triple M 5.9%
Breakfast: The Grill Team 6.5%
The Chaser show in the afternoon was one of the star performers here with afternoon up to 7.0% where the jokers fill the 3pm-4pm slot, doing better than an improved Kennedy Molloy on 5.9%. The Grill Team was up, recovering to 6.5%.
104.1 2Day FM 5.2%
Breakfast: Em, Ed and Grant 4.4%
It’s been quite some time since 2Day was over 5% so a good result here with breakfast contributing. Biggest daypart is afternoon where it is again competitive with 6.4%. Drive with Hughsey and Kate was up 0.3 to 5.5%. Evening share is on the mend too, doubling to 4.5%. Also doubling was 18-24 share – up 6.5 to 12.9%.
Macquarie Sport Radio 3.5%
Breakfast: John Stanley and Beau Ryan 4.4%
These figures are largely for the last weeks of the Talking Lifestyle format. Will be fascinating to see how the sports format and the ratings evolve over the course of the year.
2CH 1170 3.4%
Breakfast: Gareth McRay 2.5%
The last breakfast survey for McRay as we reported this week. Taking over the breakfast shift from next week will be Indira Naidoo with Trevor Sinclair with special guest appearances from comedian Dave Gibson.
Sky Sports Radio 0.8%
Breakfast: Big Sports Breakfast with Terry Kennedy 1.4%
Good to see that breakfast hasn’t fallen right away since the departure of Michael Slater at the end of 2017. In survey two last year breakfast share was 1.3%.
