97.3 FM 12.9%
Breakfast: Bianca, Terry and Bob 11.9%
After trailing Nova by just 0.5 in survey 1, 2018, 97.3 has added 0.8 and moved ahead of a falling Nova this survey. Breakfast now sits at equal #1 alongside Hit 105 with Nova pushed to third place. 97.3 daytime listening went over the top with morning up 2.8 to 14.6% and afternoon jumped 1.6 to 13.9%. The new Will and Woody drive show managed to hold over 12% too, ranking #2 FM in a market of four. Demos were steady except 55-64, which leapt 4.1 to 18.8%.
Nova 106.9 12.1%
Breakfast: Ash, Kip and Luttsy with Susie O’Neill 11.6%
Almost unfamiliar territory for the Nova station as it ranks second 10+ and third in breakfast. All dayparts were down including drive although Kate, Tim and Marty remain #1 in the latter on 14.2%. Listening 18-24 dropped 3.0 to 16.0%.
Hit 105 11.2%
Breakfast: Stav, Abby and Matt 11.9%
Equal #1 breakfast is a great result in a survey that has been good to the station. This time last year breakfast was on 12.2%. Drive continues to be the station highpoint with Hughesy and Kate lifting share to 12.9%, trailing only Nova. Hit remains #1 18-24 and 35-39 although the lead in the latter is a narrow 0.1.
104.5 Triple M 11.0%
Breakfast: Marto, Robin and The Moonman 11.0%
The station has been super competitive since the hiring of Robin Bailey, and the arrival of the very busy Lawrence Mooney might build on that. Afternoon is strongest on 13.6%. Kennedy Molloy ranks #4 FM drive, but it does so with a very healthy 11.9% share – just a pity the other three are a little higher. The station very nearly knocked off 97.3 40-54 with share up 4.0 to 17.7%, just 1.2 now behind the leader.
4KQ 8.1%
Breakfast: Laurel, Gary and Mark 9.2%
That breakfast share is the best since 2016. It is well over the station average as are mornings. The share tumbles in drive to 5.6% and then to 4.0% in evening.
4BC 5.6%
Breakfast: Alan Jones 6.1%
Mixed results with breakfast down 0.8 and morning down 1.8. Afternoon was flat with Ben Davis’s local drive up 1.5 and evening up 2.3 to a station high of 9.5%.
Macquarie Sport Radio 0.5
Breakfast: John Stanley and Beau Ryan 0.5%
The final weeks of Talking Lifestyle again here too. Will take time to see the new brand have an effect on the market.
