Fox Sports is promising to deliver its biggest ever coverage of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, with a dedicated 24/7 channel showcasing round-the-clock action from the famed Mount Panorama circuit.
Fox Sports 506 will become the home of the most iconic event on the Virgin Australia Supercars calendar from 3 Monday October, with continuous coverage of the qualifying sessions and race broadcast across the weekend.
In addition to start-to-finish coverage of the event, with every session live in HD, the pop-up channel will feature classic races and a number of entertainment programs to keep fans informed across the week.
Jessica Yates returns to host a brand new, four-part documentary series, Bathurst Legends, that delves into the folklore of The Great Race, and the lives and stories of some of the biggest names to have conquered the mountain.
The premiere episode on 3 October examines the greatest victories, defeats and battles of a collection of Bathurst legends, as told by the drivers who raced with and against them.
Continuing across the next three nights, the series takes an in-depth look at the incredible careers of Craig Lowndes and Peter Brock, and examines one of Australia’s greatest ever sporting rivalries between Holden and Ford.
Attention turns to the track from 6 October, with Mark Skaife and Neil Crompton calling each session, while Russell Ingall and Yates analyse the action and all the big talking points across the weekend.
Crompton and Skaife return to host Pit Lane Live at 6.30pm EST on October 7.
Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delany said: “The Bathurst 1000 is one of the most iconic sporting events in Australia and with the 10-year anniversary of the Peter Brock Trophy adding to the occasion this year, it’s the perfect opportunity for us to dive deeper into the action and excitement than ever before with our new, dedicated 24/7 channel.”
