A 105-year-old brand, Forbes has reported on financial success stories the world over. The first premium print edition of Forbes Australia includes its inaugural list, Australia’s startup funding list.
On the list are the 15 companies that received the largest venture capital funding, with the likes of Scalapay, Airwallex, Employment Hero, Canva, Linktree and Immutable taking out spots on the list.
Venture capital experienced a historic year in Australia across the 2021-2022 financial year, with a staggering 709 deals closed that totalled almost $11 billion.
The first-ever cover of the Forbes Australia print edition is graced by Immutable, followed by an in-depth interview on how the Ferguson brothers have built Australia’s most successful Web 3.0 company.
Mediaweek spoke to Sarah O’Carroll this morning, editor-in-chief of Forbes Australia on bringing the brand down under. In this interview, O’Carroll said: “We have the opportunity to tap into our homegrown success stories here in Australia, and to lead that conversation in entrepreneurialism, innovation and what it’s going to take to create a prosperous future in Australia. Forbes Global saw an opportunity in Australia to really adapt and lead that conversation here.”
Rounding out the list of homegrown success stories is a future-forward analysis of the landscape of Australian venture capital. This analysis is provided by AirTree Ventures’ co-founder Daniel Petre.
Launching its first print edition and website this morning Forbes Australia is published under a licensing agreement between Forbes Media and Success Publishing Pty Ltd.
In our interview with the editor-in-chief, O’Carroll shared her vision for the Australian brand of Forbes: “Really, my aim is to create, a business publication that helps our audiences connect, and really delight them – to give a bit of joy and happiness to the business community.”
Forbes Australia will deliver a bimonthly magazine, print magazine, digital news and features, creating newsletters and events.
